Why Art Therapy?

Art therapy recognises the essential role of self-expression and connection in supporting wellbeing.

It uses the arts and creative expression to engage both verbal and non-verbal strengths, supporting individuals and communities with diverse abilities to communicate, share life experiences, and take time to reflect.

Sessions are facilitated by a qualified art therapist who responds to each person’s needs, interests, and goals, helping to build confidence and support both therapeutic and creative exploration.

An art therapist focuses on the art-making process as well as participants’ wellbeing, prioritising mental health, empowerment, and quality of life.

Art therapy can:

  • Support autonomy and social-emotional wellbeing

  • Enhance a positive outlook and sense of purpose

  • Strengthen confidence, decision-making, and self-awareness

  • Encourage problem-solving skills, flexible thinking, and motivation

  • Nurture calm, focus, relaxation, and joy in daily life

At Art & Wellbeing, sessions invite individuals and communities to explore art, develop new skills, and enjoy meaningful hands-on experiences in a welcoming environment
